Treatment we offer

Traditional Chinese Medicine has a history of over 5000 year. The centre logic of TCM is that any illness affecting a particular part of the body indicates an imbalance within the whole body and often disharmony between the body and its physical and social enviroment. The principles of treatment are to balance Yin and Yang and harmonise the functions of different internal organs. TCM puts emphasis on treating the patient holistically and as a unique individual. It deals with the symptoms as well as the root of the problem.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is the time tested therapy that has been practised in China for thousands of years. The philosophy behind the treatment is that energy lines or meridians circulate around the body. These meridians contain our energy flow or “qi”. When this qi is impaired through the body that imbalance and illness occurs. With the insertion of fine needles at various points on the meridian, the energy can be moved or redirected to where it is needed most. In this way the body's balance can be restored and the illness resolved. The flow of energy can be disrupted in many ways: emotional upset, physical trauma, poor diet or overwork are all common causes. By examining this underlying cause and how it has affected the body, the most appropriate points for the patient can be selected.

Tuina-Chinese Massage: Tui Na is a form of massage practiced over 4000 years to become a highly effective non-invasive treatment. In China it is regarded as one of the main branches of Chinese Medicine therapies. Tui Na is performed through using lifting, rolling, stretching, stroking, pushing and grasping techniques resulting in a relaxing and powerfully deep tissue massage. Whilst Tui Na is renowned for its effectiveness in the treatment of musculo-skeletal conditions, it is also effective for internal problems such as nerve and nervous problems, digestive dysfunction, circulatory problems, hormonal imbalance, and related others.

Chinese Herbal Medicine: Stretching back over 2,500 years, Chinese herbal medicine is the oldest continually practised medical profession in the world. Working on the same diagnostic basis as acupuncture, Chinese herbs work by re-establishing the natural balance and harmony within the body. The herbal prescription will include several herbs working together in combination to treat the person as a whole. It is this individual designing of prescriptions that increases the effectiveness of the treatment. Chinese herbal medicine is especially effective in the areas of infertility and menstrual irregularities, skin conditions etc.
